Why I founded LATAM Blockchain Events

I started in the crypto and trading industry more than a decade ago, when almost nobody in Latin America was talking about blockchain. Between 2017 and 2020, as Head of Innovation, Blockchain & Digital Assets at the Municipality of La Molina in Lima, I created some of the first government-backed programs in Peru focused on cryptocurrency and blockchain education, alongside e-commerce and e-learning initiatives.

That experience showed me something clear: Latin America did not lack talent or interest — it lacked meeting points. The builders, exchanges, investors and regulators of the region rarely shared the same room.

In 2021 I founded LATAM Blockchain Events LLC to fix exactly that. Today the circuit runs 6 flagship events in 6 countries: Perú Blockchain Conference, Bolivia Blockchain Week, México Blockchain Week, Colombia Blockchain Week, Venezuela Blockchain Week and El Salvador Blockchain Week, connecting more than 500 stakeholders across the ecosystem.

Along the way I have had the privilege of sharing stages and conversations with leaders like Vitalik Buterin, Charles Hoskinson, Emin Gün Sirer, Richard Teng and Hong Fang, and of working as Global Event Manager with teams such as MEXC and TOKEN2049. Every event is built with the same idea: Latin America deserves a world-class stage for Web3.

This blog is where I share what I learn building that circuit — the deals, the mistakes, the partnerships and the lessons. If you are building in the region, I hope it is useful.
